How Scribeless writes its cards
Scribeless does not say, and we could not settle it. Its homepage and API docs do not mention robots or pens, and the docs describe rendering handwriting as a PNG. Its Shopify listing calls the handwriting "AI powered." A 2019 university article described robots with fountain pens, and a competitor, Simply Noted, says Scribeless laser-prints, which is a biased source. If it matters to you, ask Scribeless directly and request a sample. Our guide to real pen vs printed handwriting shows how to tell on a card in your hand.
What a card costs
Scribeless does not publish prices for handwritten cards or letters. Its pricing page lists postcards from £1.99 each (1 to 499) down to £1.19 (5,000 to 9,999), with stamps at local rates, and says subscriptions for recurring and integration-based campaigns are priced by its sales team. It also offers to beat a better quote. Its HubSpot marketplace listing says "from $3.00 per mailing." For cards, ask for a quote and compare it with our published rates: $3.25 a card at up to 499 a month, down to $1.95 at 10,000 or more, postage included. The cost calculator works out your monthly total.
Where notecardHQ is different
- Every word is read back before writing. Each note becomes pen strokes and is read by OCR word by word; anything unclear is redrawn before the pen moves. How every card is written.
- One all-in price. Card, handwriting, envelope and postage, from $3.25 in the US and $4.25 abroad, down to $1.95 at volume. No monthly fee. Pricing.
- Built for developers. Idempotency keys so a retry never mails a second card, US address verification before a note is accepted, and a status for every note. Quickstart.
- We can write the notes for you. Send us what you know about each recipient and we write the note, then the robot writes the card.
- Written in New York. Cards are written, stamped and mailed from our New York studio, to the US and abroad.
When Scribeless may suit you better
Scribeless is the stronger choice if you want mail posted locally in several countries with local postmarks, need native connectors such as its Shopify app, HubSpot listing or Clay integration today, or want webhooks for QR code scans. Its API also has partner workflows for creating sub-accounts, and it offers to price-match large volumes. If printed postcards are fine for the campaign, its published postcard prices are low.
