Send handwritten notes from Make (Integromat) scenarios

Any app Make connects to can trigger a card. Add one HTTP module that calls the notecardHQ API.

The HTTP module

  • Module: HTTP, Make a request. URL: https://you.notecardhq.com/api/v1/notes. Method: POST.
  • Headers: Authorization = Bearer YOUR_API_KEY; Idempotency-Key = a value unique to the event, such as order: plus the trigger's ID.
  • Body type: Raw, content type JSON (application/json). Request content, with the trigger's fields mapped in:
{
  "externalId": "{{1.id}}",
  "recipient": {
    "firstName": "{{1.first_name}}",
    "lastName": "{{1.last_name}}",
    "address1": "{{1.address1}}",
    "city": "{{1.city}}",
    "state": "{{1.state}}",
    "postalCode": "{{1.zip}}",
    "country": "{{1.country}}"
  },
  "content": "Hi {{1.first_name}},\n\nThank you for choosing us.\n\nThe team"
}

Turn on Parse response to use the returned note's id and status later in the scenario.

Errors and retries

Add an error handler that retries on network errors, 429 and 5xx with the same Idempotency-Key, so a retry never sends twice. A 422 means a bad field or an undeliverable US address: fix the data rather than retrying.

Field rules, statuses and errors are in the API reference. Prefer another language? See the quickstart.

Send your first note.

Tell us what you want to send and we will set up your workspace.
