Sendoso handwritten notes, compared.
Sendoso is a gifting and direct mail platform for B2B revenue teams, and a note is one part of a send. notecardHQ only writes and mails cards. Here is how the two differ, from Sendoso's own pages on October 25, 2026.

How the note is made
Sendoso's help center describes custom notecards as inventory: cards are sent to its fulfillment center, or ordered through its merch service, and added to campaigns for handwritten notes, with the text set at send time. It does not say, in what we could read, whether a person, a robot or a printer writes that text. Sendoso's own blog points out that many "handwritten" offers on the market are printed fonts, so it is a fair question to ask about any platform, including this one. Ask for a sample of a finished note.
At notecardHQ every card is written by a robot holding a real pen in New York, and every word is read back by OCR before writing. How we check every card explains the steps.
Different jobs
A gifting platform is built around the gift: a catalog, warehousing, approvals and a send flow for sales and marketing teams. The note rides along. notecardHQ is built around the card: one API call or a few clicks in the portal sends a card written in real ink, triggered by the events your systems already track. When a card should come with something, we put a gift card or small item in the envelope, or pack it with merch from merchHQ, our sister company; see campaigns.
What it costs
Sendoso does not publish prices; gifting platforms generally sell on quotes and contracts. notecardHQ cards are $3.25 each at up to 499 a month, down to $1.95 at 10,000 or more, with card, handwriting, envelope and postage included and no monthly fee. Premium stationery and gifts are quoted per campaign. See pricing.
Where notecardHQ is different
- Every word is read back before writing. Each note becomes pen strokes and is read by OCR word by word; anything unclear is redrawn before the pen moves. How every card is written.
- One all-in price. Card, handwriting, envelope and postage, from $3.25 in the US and $4.25 abroad, down to $1.95 at volume. No monthly fee. Pricing.
- Built for developers. Idempotency keys so a retry never mails a second card, US address verification before a note is accepted, and a status for every note. Quickstart.
- We can write the notes for you. Send us what you know about each recipient and we write the note, then the robot writes the card.
- Written in New York. Cards are written, stamped and mailed from our New York studio, to the US and abroad.
When Sendoso may suit you better
If the gift is the program and the note is a finishing touch, a gifting platform is the better fit: one place for a sales or marketing team to choose, approve and send gifts, swag and direct mail, with the note as part of the send. Sendoso has also folded Alyce, Postal and Merch.co into one company, so teams already on one of those may want to stay. Some teams keep a gifting platform for gifts and send the handwritten card itself from notecardHQ, triggered by the same event.
